The objectives of the Congress :
- Encourage young researchers, doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows
- To make known the research centers and associations (Diwan, Halqa, Samah, AGIS) working on the field
- Bring together researchers from different backgrounds to overcome the compartmentalization of research teams
- To enable research themes to be tackled jointly by specialists from different human and social sciences, from different historical periods, and from different geographical areas or countries (Maghreb, Middle East, Central Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia And the South-East)
- To respond to the challenges posed by the upheavals in the Maghreb and the Middle East, to report on the mobilisations of civil society.
